Stelios Chatziktoris, born in 1990 in Limassol, Cyprus, is an accomplished lyric tenor, choral conductor, and vocal practitioner known for his multifaceted artistry. With a deep passion for music and a holistic approach to vocal care, Chatziktoris has built an international career that combines technical expertise, artistic sensitivity, and a commitment to inspire the next generation of musicians. 

 Chatziktoris’s musical journey began in childhood, nurtured by a rich artistic environment and early piano studies. He quickly gained recognition as a young artist, becoming a finalist in the 13th International Steinway Piano Competition in Cyprus (2008). His piano studies were further enriched through masterclasses. 

 In 2009, Chatziktoris relocated to Berlin to pursue his passion for music, focusing on choral conducting at the Hanns Eisler School of Music under the guidance of Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle. In 2011, he founded the Ήxos Choir Berlin, an ensemble renowned for its innovative repertoire and artistic excellence. Under his direction, the choir has achieved significant success in competitions and gained a reputation for its dynamic performances. 

 In 2014, Chatziktoris began his formal vocal training at the Hanns Eisler School of Music, studying with Prof. Anneliese Fried and Stephan Rügamer. He also sought additional mentorship from prominent figures such as Gary Jankowski, Franco Farina, Joel Prieto, John Norris, and Michael Trimble. This rigorous training allowed him to refine his lyric tenor voice, characterized by both technical precision and emotional depth. 

 Chatziktoris has performed a variety of opera roles throughout his career, showcasing his versatility and vocal prowess. His roles include Don Basilio in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, Count Almaviva in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Junker Spärlich in “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, and Tamino in “Die Zauberflöte”. Additionally, he has been featured in two world premieres, performing as Johannes in “A Bad Man’s Life” by Marc-Aurel Floros and taking on the lead role of Caspar in “Argos Sidiros” by Andys Skordis. These performances highlight his ability to navigate both comedic and dramatic roles with technical mastery and emotional depth. 

Chatziktoris has graced stages at prestigious festivals and venues around the world. He has performed at the Opera Verona festival concerts, the Chamber Opera Rheinsberg, the Oper-Oder-Spree Festival, and the Kypria International Festival. Additionally, he has appeared in concerts at Berlin’s historic Nikolaikirche and performed with the Cyprus State Orchestra, further establishing his presence in the international music scene. 

Chatziktoris has had the privilege of collaborating with several distinguished conductors throughout his career, further enriching his musical journey. He performed under the direction of Julius Kalmar during his debut with the Cyprus State Orchestra. His vocal training and performances have also benefited from the guidance of renowned figures such as Prof. Jörg-Peter Weigle during his choral conducting studies and vocal mentors including Gary Jankowski, Franco Farina, Joel Prieto, John Norris, and Michael Trimble. These collaborations have played a crucial role in shaping both his conducting and singing careers, allowing him to refine his artistry under expert direction. 

Chatziktoris’s expertise as a choral conductor has led him to work with prominent institutions and ensembles. From 2013 to 2015, he was awarded a prestigious two-year scholarship by the Conductors’ Forum of the German Music Council, where he gained valuable experience with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Vienna, and MDR and NDR radio choirs. 

His work with the Berlin Girls’ Choir (2015–2019) was especially impactful, allowing him to explore vocal development and youth choir training in depth. Since January 2024, he has been serving as choir director and vocal coach for the OPUS KLASSIK-winning Children’s Opera House Berlin, focusing on vocal technique and educational outreach through three ensembles at the State Opera Berlin. 

 Alongside his musical career, Chatziktoris has developed a strong interest in body awareness and its relationship to vocal performance. In 2018, he has been introduced in the Feldenkrais Method and he is now completing his certification in Vienna. This body-mind approach has deepened his understanding of vocal health, enhancing both his teaching and his personal artistry. 

 In 2020, Chatziktoris obtained certifications in classical and deep tissue massage, foot reflexology, and Breuß back therapy. He has also attained specialization in voice release massage, a technique for optimizing vocal freedom through physical relaxation and alignment, developed by Luise Breyer-Aiton. 

 Stelios Chatziktoris represents the convergence of tradition and innovation in vocal performance, choral conducting, and vocal health education. His diverse skills and dedication to both artistry and pedagogy have made him a highly sought-after figure in the classical music world. With a commitment to nurturing the body-mind connection, he continues to inspire, educate, and engage audiences and young musicians alike, delivering performances that resonate with both technical brilliance and heartfelt expression.
